This poster board will examine the configuration of gangs and police departments in the HBO series The Wire.
We explore how power disparities are represented within the various groups in the show. We conducted a
latent content analysis on three 60-minute episodes of The Wire, a Baltimore-based TV series following the
events of the Barksdale gang and the Baltimore Police Department homicide and narcotics units.
