Resources (a workbook and supplementary insert) used by the author when teaching hands-on ‘FOI 101’ introductory workshops on freedom of information and access to information laws and processes. These resources are intended to assist new users of ATI/FOI mechanisms in the crafting of public records requests, the negotiation of requests-in-progress, and post-request follow-up. The workbook is designed around ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ exercises. The insert provides tips on request formulation, filing, and ‘brokering’, information on how to access previously-completed ATI/FOI materials both in BC and at the Canadian federal level, and copies of blank BC and Canadian ATI/FOI forms.
